Tawi Tawi drug kingpin nabbed in PNP dragnet set for cohort


A Tawi Tawi drug kingpin was nabbed in a trap purposely laid down by police personnel for his cohorts during an operation in Sibutu last Monday, June 7.

The drug leader was identified as Alshid Hamsain Kamlon aka Alcid, the head of a drug syndicate in the areas of Sibutu and Sitangkai in Tawi Tawi Province.

A PRO-BARMM report said that Kamlon was arrested during an operation launched by police to arrest the former’s accomplice, Yusop Ambutong Ipla aka Usuf.

Undercover cops were transacting with Ipla when they learned Kamlon was in the area.

Kamlon was arrested together with Ipla and two other cohorts: Omar Ipla Talon and Elton Dalmata Kasan.

Police seized some P340,000 worth of drugs, a .45 caliber pistol with ammunition, drug paraphernalia and marked money from the group.
