DE JESUS
TACLOBAN CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Ronaldo de Jesus, Eastern Visayas police chief, has tested positive for COVID-19.

This was confirmed by Police Major Gen. Alfred Corpuz, Philippine National Police (PNP) director for operations, during a hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs last Wednesday, June 9, on the killing of Calbayog City Mayor Ronald Aquino last March.

De Jesus failed to attend the hearing because he is in isolation. He also failed to attend the two-day visit of PNP chief Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar last June 7 and 8 in Eastern Visayas.

Eleazar visited this city; Palo, Leyte; and Ormoc City to ensure intensified cleanliness capacity among city and local police stations.

He was welcomed instead by Police Brig. Gen Ronaldo Mendoza, deputy regional director for administration, and Police Col. Jonathan Cabal, deputy regional director for operations.
