“Kailangan talaga, magpabakuna kayo. Bawal ang tanga (You really need to get vaccinated. Stupidity is not allowed),” Gordon said over Teleradyo on Sunday, June 6.

“Kung di kayo magpapabakuna, dun na lang kayo sa bahay habang buhay, ‘wag kayong lalabas (If you don’t want to get vaccinated, stay at home for the rest of your life, don’t go out),” he added.

The lawmaker underscored the importance of getting vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to prevent hospitalization and death due to the dreaded disease that has claimed the lives of over 21,000 people in the country, according to the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH).

“Kayo pag nabakunahan, mape-prevent ang infection, yung pagkalat ng disease, mape-prevent yung gastos sa ospital at exposure ng mga tao sa ospital, at kamatayan (When you are vaccinated, you can prevent infection, the spread of disease, you can prevent hospital costs and exposure of people to the hospital, and death),” Gordon said.

“Kaya dapat talaga tayo ay nagpapabakuna at pagnabakunahan na kayo ‘wag kayong over confident, hindi full ang proteksyon niyan. And even if you’re a fully vaccinated, kailangan mag-ingat pa rin (So we should really get vaccinated and once you are vaccinated, don’t be over confident, that protection is not full. And even if you’re a fully vaccinated, you still need to be careful),” he added.

The senator also has strong words aimed towards those who still refuse to get inoculated, saying that there is no excuse not to get vaccinated.

He noted that other countries who managed to vaccinate most of their population have begun easing quarantine restrictions and starting to return to their normal lives.

“Kailangan gampanan niyo ang tungkulin niyo sa inyong sarili at sa inyong kamag-anak na nasa bahay niyo, at yung mga makakausap ninyo pagka kayo ay lumalabas. Kung wala kayong bakuna wala kayong protection (You must fulfill your duty to yourself and to your relatives at home, and to those you talk to when you go out. If you are not vaccinated, you have no protection),” Gordon said.

“I’m not going to pull my punches. Bawal ang tanga, bawal ang tamad, magpabakuna kayo (Stupidity is not allowed, laziness is not allowed, get vaccinated),” he added.
