Why Manilyn Reynes-Michael V. tandem clicks

For the past 10 years, Michael V. and Manilyn Reynes played husband and wife in GMA Network's well-loved family sitcom "Pepito Manaloto."

The show aired its season finale a few days ago and during a virtual interview, the two were asked why their "love team" worked and for years.

Michael cited "relatability" and "credibility."

"These are valuable tools for an actor, You can't create believable characters just by simply acting it out. You should live the experience and translate it in front of cameras."

Meanwhile, Manilyn offered "chemistry."

According to her, Michael is a great co-actor who is very supportive of her, allowing for great rapport.

Anyway, they urged show fans to watch out for the "prequel" of "Pepito Manaloto," which drops July.

It will be set in the 1980s they said, back when their characters, Pepito and Elsa, are still in the courting stage of their relationship.

The two shared that their objective is to approximate "John en Marsha."

"We want 'Pepito Manaloto' to be fun and entertaining but we also make sure we touch on social issues, family values," he explained.
