Dennis Padilla recalls confronting Gerald Anderson over Bea Alonzo, Julia Barretto

The veteran actor recently opened up about his daughter Julia Barretto's romance with Gerald Anderson.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Dennis shared that he actually confronted the 32-year-old actor back when his daughter was being alleged as the third party in Gerald's controversial breakup with Bea Alonzo.

Dennis said he called Gerald to ask if he and Bea Alonzo were still a couple, which the latter supposedly denied.

Dennis accepted Gerald's story, going on to ask him to defend his daughter in public.

Supposedly Gerald promised to do so but for some reason it didn't push through.

It was around the time that Bea accused Gerald of "ghosting" her.

Dennis shared that he was so furious after seeing footage of Bea uttering the statement.

"I felt like he was two-timing my daughter," he said in Filipino.

According to Dennis, Julia then sought him out, expressing disappointment for his reaction without hearing Gerald or her side of the story.

When he found out that Gerald and Julia are already an item, Dennis just "accepted" it and showed his "support."

He noted how her daughter is already of age to know what she wants.

So does he approve of Gerald as Julia's new boyfriend?

Dennis said that as long as he does not hurt Julia, all is good.

He advised the couple that if things don't work out, they should just split up with no bad blood.

Dennis added, "Of course, there are still some bashers who can't accept that Gerald chose Julia over Bea. But that's life, isn't it?" he said.

"Even I went through it."

Dennis revealed that he and Gerald have yet to talk again.

He hopes Gerald would try and reach out to him believing it's a big deal noting, "It's showing respect to the dad of the woman you love."
