Guadencio Nicolas and Virginia Remo were both visited by officials of the local government, led by Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, in their respective homes, and were given a plaque and a P100,0000 check.

Tatay Guadencio from Barangay Addition Hills was born on April 10, 1921, while Nanay Virginia from Barangay San Jose was born on June 3, 1921.

Ordinance No. 681 Series of 2017 mandates the local government to provide a P50,000 cash incentive to its constituents aged 100 years old and above.

The ordinance was amended in October of the same year after the national government required LGUs to give a plaque of recognition to its centenarians and increase the cash incentive to P100,000.
