Sputnik V arrives in Cebu City

CEBU CITY – At least 300 doses of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine arrived here Wednesday.

A box of Sputnik V from the Gamaleya Institute in Russia arrived aboard a Philippine Airlines aircraft at the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

The shipment was part of the 15,000 doses of Sputnik V which arrived in the country last week.

Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, spokesperson of the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH 7), said all the 300 doses will be used for the first of the A1-A4 subgroups.

Another delivery will be made for the second dose, Loreche said.

The Sputnik V jabs, which will be used for recipients aged 18 and above, were stored in the cold chain facility of DOH 7 with -18 degrees temperature.
