As of 11 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2021, tropical storm Dante has made landfall over Eastern Samar, and it is feared that it will cause massive lahar flow in the vicinity of Mayon Volcano in Bicol.

The Philippine variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has also been given a name by the World Health Organization (WHO).

And the rotational brownouts in several areas in Luzon are expected to continue.
