At least 200 residents rescued in Agusan del Norte flooding


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued at least 200 residents living alongside Tubay River, Agusan del Norte as the water continue to rise due to the heavy rains brought by tropical storm 'Dante'.

According to the Coast Guard, the rescued residents were taken to an evacuation area at the Doña Rosario National High School in Agusan del Norte.

Meanwhile, the PCG recorded a total of 3,360 passengers were stranded in Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Southern Tagalog, Northeastern Mindanao, and Bicol region as of 12 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said tropical storm “Dante” is now off the southwestern coast of Masbate and is heading towards the vicinity of Romblon.
