The National Capital Region (NCR), plus the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Laguna, will continue to be under general community quarantine (GCQ) until June 15.

President Duterte announced the extension of GCQ late Monday night, May 31, 2021. He also said 14 other areas where coronavirus disease (COVID-19) surges are being experienced under the more stringent modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

And in a noble gesture to reciprocate the kindness extended to the country by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Philippines will be donating $1 million to the COVAX Facility which provides free COVID-19 vaccines to poor countries.
