No new reported case of COVID-19 in Navotas


For the first time in three months, the local government of Navotas recorded no additional case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday, Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

“The initiatives that we implemented to further combat the spread of the virus and lessen the probability of transmission have only been effective because it was done with the help and cooperation of all stakeholders in the community,” he said.

“The ongoing vaccination program also played a big part in our efforts to reduce the number of active cases. This is why we highly encourage those who are aged 18 and above to register and participate in the NavoBakuna COVID-19 vaccination program,” he added.

The city government also logged a high rate of recoveries.

As of Sunday (May 30), 95.7% of the 10, 353 total COVID cases in the city have recovered.

The city has been tagged as a "high-risk area" in February this year.
