CEBU CITY – Police seized P6.9-million worth of suspected shabu from two men who allegedly served as drug couriers of an inmate at the City Jail Saturday.

Vincent Mayol Suplac, a 27-year-old mechanic, and Giovanni Ambrag, a 25-year-old construction worker, were arrested in a buy-operation conducted by operatives of the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) in Barangay Luz here at dawn.

The two men yielded 1.2 kilograms of shabu, said Police Col. Josefino Ligan, chief of the CCPO.

Ligan said the two men were hired by one Nelgin Dacalos, a drug suspect currently detained at the Cebu City Jail.

“Dacalos, who is known as ‘Kumander Ado’ inside the City Jail, was still able to facilitate his drug transactions through his trusted man Suplac. His distribution covers the entire city,” said Ligan.

Police Lt. Col. Randy Caballes, chief of the CIU, said they were able to corner the two suspects after closely monitoring them for one week.

Caballes said Suplac was capable of selling 500 to one kilogram of shabu per week.

Ambrag, on the other hand, only started with the illegal drug trade four months ago and sold 100 to 200 grams of shabu a week, Caballes said.
