Manila Bulletin holds Father’s Day Video Contest


This year’s Father’s Day, on June 20, Manila Bulletin is inviting everyone to get creative and get a chance to win exciting prizes in its Special Moments with Dad Camera Phone Video Contest. Using their own camera phones, participants are required to create an up to 3-minute video of their bonding moments with their fathers and share it in their

Facebook and social media pages. Prizes at stake are: 1st  Place, Php 15,000 SM Gift Certificates and Manila Bulletin Premium Items; 2nd  Place, Php 10,000 SM Gift Certificates and Manila Bulletin Premium Items; and 3rd  Place, Php 5,000 SM Gift Certificates and Manila Bulletin Premium Items. There will also be three Special Mention winners who will all get Manila Bulletin Premium Items and a backpack.

Sharing and posting of entries is up to June 13, 2021 and the announcement of winners will be on Father’s Day, June 20, 2021. This contest is in partnership with the SM Store. Complete mechanics below.

MECHANICS

  1. This contest is open to participants of all ages.
  2. Participants should like and follow Manila Bulletin’s social media pages.
  3. Participants must digitally record a video using a camera phone with the theme “Special Moments with Dad” and must not exceed three ( 3 ) minutes.
  4. All entries must be in landscape format with a minimum of 720p resolution and in MPEG, MP4, .MOV file format.
  5. Each participant is entitled to submit one (1) entry only.
  6. Entries may be edited using any video editing software.
  7. No visible watermarks such as dates or brands must be seen.
  8. Entry must not contain any copyrighted images and/or music.
  9. All entries must be posted in Facebook and submitted through email as detailed below.

POSTING OF ENTRIES

  1. Upon completion of the video entry, participants must post the final video with a caption of no more than 100 words in their Facebook account. Indicated in the caption should be the entry-title and description, or message to your father.
  2. In the caption add the hashtag #MBFathersDay2021” and tag @manilabulletin.
  3. All posting and of entries must be completed by not later that 11:59 pm June 12, 2021.
  4. Setting of post should be to public.

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES

  1. Participants are also required to email their final video file to [email protected] not later than June 12, 2021 and follow this format:
    A. Subject Line: “MB Father’s Day Contest 2021”
    B. File Name: “surname_first name_ title of video.”
    Ex. Dela Cruz_Juan_Matanglawin
  2. Participants must also include in the email:
    A. Title of Entry
    B. Up to 100 word description or message.
    C. Photo of participant with his father or of them separately.
    D. Three (3) behind the scene photos or images of the shoot or video creation process.
    E. Participant full name
    F. At least one (1) Valid ID
    G. Birth date
    H. Mobile Number
    I. Link to FB post
  3. All video and file submissions shall become the property of the Manila Bulletin and has the right to feature the participants, winners and use them for promotional purposes.
    A. An entry will be disqualified in case of the following:
     Not following the given requirements including size, age and format.
     Works that are obscene or may discriminate any group, culture, beliefs and integrity of others.
     Works using any dangerous, illegal/prohibitive, hazardous materials and substances.
     Works with incomplete documentation.
     Works that are copied from other creators/artists will be treated as plagiarized work.

VALIDATING, JUDGING OF ENTRIES, AND WINNERS

  1. Validating and judging of all qualified entries will be done by Manila Bulletin’s representatives and judges.
  2. Criteria for Judging are as follows:
    Creativity and Execution – artistic design and style 25%
    Originality – unique and fresh idea 25%
    Message – overall message values communicated 25%
    Adherence – to theme 25%
  1. Finalists and winners will be announced via Facebook and will be posted in Manila Bulletin’s official Facebook page. Finalists will be announced on June 16, 2021. And winners will be announced on June 20, 2021. The decision of Manila Bulletin’s judges is final.
  2. Finalist and winners are encouraged to share the post that they are part select finalists.
  3. There will be three (3) main winners and three (3) special mention winners who will be featured or announced in Manila Bulletin’s Social media pages.
  4. Employees of the Manila Bulletin including their relatives up to third degree of consanguinity or affinity are not eligible to join the contest.
  5. Claiming of prizes will be at The Manila Bulletin main office at Muralla corner Recoletos Streets, Intramuros, Manila. All prizes not claimed after 45 days from the date of announcement shall be forfeited.
