Pasig City LGU distributes nutrition packs to students


The Pasig City government launched on Tuesday its “Malusog na Batang Pasigueño” (M-B-P) program that will provide the city students with nutrition food packs to help them get proper nutrition amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto posted on his Facebook account some photos of the program's launch.

"Makakatanggap ng isang Nutrition Food Pack kada buwan ang 147,484 mag-aaral sa Pasig (mula sa mga pampublikong elementarya at high school, SPED (Special Education), at pati community-based ALS (Alternative Learning System) (147,484 public elementary and high school students, SPED, and community-based ALS students will receive nutrition food packs every month)," Sotto said.

"Bukod sa masustansyang pagkain, meron itong vitamins na makakatulong na makuha ng mga kabataan ang tamang nutrisyon (Besides nutritious foods, the food packs also contain vitamins to help the kids receive the right nutrition)," he added.

The mayor emphasized that right nutrition is essential in achieving the proper physical and mental development of children.

"Nakaka-miss nga lang ang mga bata sa programa (PTA lang muna ang kasama sa launching). Sana makatulong ito sa mga pamilyang nangangailangan, lalo na ngayong pandemya.. higit sa lahat para maipagpatuloy ng bawat Batang Pasigueño ang kanilang pag-aaral (I really miss the kids during these programs. I really hope that these nutrition packs could help those families who are in need and that all Batang Pasigueño could continue on their studies)," Sotto said
