QC police ordered to expedite probe, arrest of those behind brutal murder of transman

Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), vowed to personally monitor the progress of the investigation on the case of a transman who was brutally murdered in Quezon City.

Eleazar said that he had already ordered the Quezon City Police District to create a Special Investigation Task Group and to work 24/7 in solving the murder of transman Ebeng Mayor.

“Nakikiramay kami sa pamilya ni Ebeng Mayor at nakikiisa sa ating LGBTQ community na makamit ang hustisya laban sa mga taong nasa likod ng karumal-dumal na krimeng ito (We express our condolences to the family of Ebeng Mayor and we join our LGBTQ community in their call for justice),” said Eleazar.

“Makakaasa kayo na personal kong tutukan ang kasong ito at ako mismo ang makikipag-ugnayan sa kaniyang pamilya sa anumang development ng kasong ito, (I will personally monitor this case and I will personally keep in touch with the family of the victim to report on any development on this case)” he added.

Mayor’s body was found in Quezon City, three days after they went missing. Authorities are still awaiting results of medical tests and autopsy conducted by the PNP Crime Laboratory on the body to confirm allegations that Mayor was sexually abused.

There were initial indications, however, that Mayor was brutally murdered and that the crime was committed by at least two suspects.
