IATF OKs hosting of 2021 Swimming National Selection Meet


The government’s pandemic task force has approved the request of Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI) to host the 2021 Swimming National Selection Meet.

In PTV-4's Laging Handa public briefing on Friday, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque announced that the event will be held in a "bubble-type" atmosphere at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac.

Roque said that based on Resolution No. 116 of the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, the delegates will be considered as Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR).

The delegates will also be allowed interzonal travel.

The PSI is the governing body for swimming and other aquatic sports in the country and is accredited by the International Swimming Federation which is the governing body for the sport of Swimming in the world, and the Philippine Olympic Committee.
