Cash assistance distribution in NCR+ almost complete- Año


Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año said that the the distribution of cash assistance to those affected by the implementation of stricter measures in Metro Manila and four adjacent provinces is at 92.45 percent already.

In a briefing with the President on Monday night, May 17, Año said the percentage translates to 21,186,353 beneficiaries who received the assistance in National Capital Region, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal, or areas which composed the NCR Plus. The fund allocated for cash assistance is P22.9 billion

A total of 10,251,680 people (91.75 percent) have received aid in Metro Manila, 2,874,825 in Bulacan (96.89 percent), 2,956,065 in Cavite (85.82 percent), 2,633,653 in Laguna (96.89 percent) and 2,470,130 in Rizal (94.54 percent).

Each qualified beneficiary was given P1,000 cash aid with every family getting a maximum amount of P4,000.

He added that the cash aid disbursement and all the complaints and appeals will be resolved by the grievance and appeals committee of the local government units (LGUs) in the remaining week.

From March 29 to April 11, NCR- plus was placed under ECQ with the COVID-19 surge in the area.
