According to Calamba Community Kitchen, they have received calls for help from residents who said they are going hungry amid their lack of livelihood.

Most people in Pansol rely on hot spring resorts for their income and the local tourism industry has suffered immensely due to community quarantine restrictions brought by the pandemic.

Calamba has approximately 1,400 hot spring resorts, making tourism a major economic driver.

The local government unit (LGU) is already coordinating with the Regional and National COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to apply for an exemption to allow the operation of hot spring resorts within the city.
