In this kind of heat, sometimes, a cold brew doesn’t do the trick

Desserts are always about the best combinations. Locally, pairing ube with cheese is the ongoing craze, while coconut with pandan flavor is a combo that is a true classic. Western table also has its own unique pairings. But for coffee aficionados, affogato is one of the things that tops the list.

The Italian dessert puts vanilla ice cream and coffee in one cup. Dreamy, right? It is among the ultimate love affairs when it comes to sweet treats. And that is what Starbucks is serving with the comeback of its beloved coffee and ice cream combo beverages that will surely leave everyone melting in bliss.

The beverage line was first launched in 2016 at the Starbucks Reserve, stores that showcase the rarest, most extraordinary coffees Starbucks has to offer. It has five coffee-based ice cream drink variants, recreating the classic dessert and some with a modern twists.

First, the Classic Affogato, a cup with two perfectly pulled shots of espresso over rich vanilla ice cream. Next is the House Affogato, the Classic Affogato taken to the next level with a drizzle of golden demerara syrup and dusting of cinnamon powder.

Highlighting the coffee flavor more are Cold Brew Float and Nitro Cold Brew Float. Both drinks have vanilla ice cream, the difference is the infusion of nitrogen in the latter, making it naturally sweet with a velvety crema taste.

Lastly is the Cold Brew Malt, an ultra-thick blended malted milkshake with Starbucks Reserve cold brew and vanilla ice cream. Its frothiness alone makes it truly irresistible.

Starbucks’ coffee + ice cream drinks are available in select Starbucks Reserve stores only.
