A barangay personnel in Caloocan City was caught using a falsified ID (identification card) in a remittance center to claim the cash assistance of another resident.
Barangay 185 head Ronnie Masaoay, whose personnel was allegedly involved in the incident, confirmed this after it was posted on facebook.
Masaoay did not provide any other details, but the Facebook post claimed that the female personnel’s activity was discovered after the staff of the remittance center claimed that the barangay personnel had already claimed the cash aid three times under different names.
“Kamakailan lang ay may kumalat na balita sa social media na di-umano’y isang kawani ng barangay ang nasangkot sa isang kontrobersya sa pamemeke ng ID upang makakuha ng SAP (Social Amelioration Program assistance) o ayuda (Recently, I saw news on social media saying a personnel from my barangay was allegedly involved in a controversy for using falsified ID to get SAP aid),” Masaoy said in his Facebook page.
“Sa aking pagsisiyat ay napag-alaman ko na ito ay kagagawan ng isang tao lamang. Masakit nga lang isipin na ito ay kawani ng barangay (Based on my investigation, I found out that this was committed by a single individual. It hurts to think that she was a barangay personnel),” he added.
Masaoay said he already ordered a preventive suspension against the personnel who also offered to voluntarily resign following the incident.
“Hindi ko kukunsintihin ang kahit sinong kawani na mapapatunayang nagkasala (I will not tolerate any personnel who will be found guilty),” he said.
“Kung may pagdududa, bukas ang tanggapan ng barangay para sa isang masusi at patas na imbestigasyon at dahil na rin sa pangyayaring ito ay umasa kayo na palalakasin ko ang aking liderato sa pamamagitan ng pagrepaso sa mga patakaran at panuntunan ng barangay (If you have doubts, my office is open for a fair and thorough investigation. Because of this incident, I assure you that I will strengthen my leadership by rectifying the processes and guidelines of the barangay), he added.
