CEBU CITY – The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) fully supports newly installed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.
Police Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo, chief of PRO 7, said the successor of the now retired Police Gen. Debold Sinas has what it takes to lead the 210,000-strong PNP.
“Our police in Central Visayas are much willing to support him. I know him well. He was my regional director when I was the district director of the Quezon City Police District. I know his skills, talent, dedication, and passion to work,” Montejo said of the 26th PNP chief.
Montejo said the PRO 7 will ensure “cleanliness in the office, cleanliness in the ranks, and cleanliness in the community” to support Eleazar’s Intensified Cleanliness Policy.
The anti-insurgency campaign and the fight against illegal drugs and illegal gambling will also be sustained under the leadership of Eleazar, said Montejo.
Montejo said Eleazar’s policies will boost PRO 7’s existing program.
“During my assumption, cleanliness in the office and in the ranks is my priority. We came up with the discipline zone which is not just supported by our police but also by the local government units and other sectors,” said Montejo.
Montejo warned that cleansing in the police ranks will be intensified under Eleazar’s leadership. “The sanctions will vary because it will depend on the magnitude of the offense. If there’s a chance for a policeman to reform, we will give that chance. But if its incorrigible, we will not hesitate to enforce dismissal from service.”
