Mayor Sara suspends class on all levels in Davao City due to ‘Crising’


DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sara Duterte here has declared the suspension of classes in all public and private schools from kindergarten to post-graduate studies, including technical-vocational courses, from Friday, May 14, to Saturday, May 15, due to tropical storm “Crising.”

Duterte, in her Proclamation No. 1, Series of 2021, ordered the adoption of the full work from home arrangement in all national and local government offices, including government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs).

 It added that operations in the offices related to safety and security, health, social services, and disaster offices who are performing emergency, disaster preparedness and response duties, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response, and vaccination activities will not be disrupted.

The city government said that private offices and establishments may suspend work at their own discretion.

Based on the latest advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued at 11 a.m. Thursday, the center of Crising was seen at 250 kilometers east here.
