The commander of Caloocan City Police Sub-Station 9 was relieved from his post effective Tuesday over the unauthorized operation of a resort in his area of jurisdiction that led to the violation of quarantine measures.

The local government of Caloocan City said Col. Samuel Mina, city police chief, sacked Maj. Harold Melgar.

He will be replaced by Lt. Ronald Batalla, it added.

Melgar’s relief came after police and city hall officials discovered the operation of Gubat sa Ciudad Resort in his area of responsibility, Barangay 171, Bagumbong on Mother’s Day. Around 300 guests were caught in the area for violating the protocol against mass gathering.
