Execration finally got its act together to snap its five-game losing skid and rekindle its Playoffs contention, pulling off a 2-1 reverse sweep over also-ran Cignal Ultra in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Sunday night, May 9.

Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Hernandez’s Lancelot and the rest of Execration dictated the tempo right from the get-go against the ultra-defensive lineup of Cignal anchored on Estes and Mathilda in the deciding Game 3.

An inspired performance from “The King” (4-0-7 kill-death-assist) saw him secure early pickoffs and Turtle objectives that ignited the crowd favorites’ 14-5 victory in 15 minutes.

Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic and Duane “Kelra” Pillas also came up with perfect games on Kagura (4-0-6) and Harith (3-0-5), respectively.

Cignal saw a small light of hope when Janus “JANUS” Badando’s Bruno stole the Luminous Lord but Execration was able to punish them by slaying three heroes then marching straight to the Base.

Execration was able to forge a decider with a 21-minute 16-8 triumph in Game 2 behind Kelra’s Harith.

Coach Jomie “Pakba1ts” Abalos and Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso’s team joined rival Nexplay Esports at No. 3 in Group B with 15 points on a 4-7 series record.

For its part, the eliminated Cignal fell short anew as it suffered its 12th straight defeat at the bottom of Group A with only four markers.

Coach Denver “Yebmaester” Miranda’s squad took a slim 16-13 win in the series opener at the back of Jhones “RHEA” De Leon’s Barats and Benson “Bensanity” Paglinawan’s Khufra but they lost the momentum in the following games.
