Powered by Dexter “Exort” Martinez’s Lunox, Nexplay Esports came through with a lopsided Game 3 victory to take down Onic PH, 2-1, and inch closer to bagging an MPL Philippines Season 7 Playoffs spot on Sunday night, May 9.

Exort’s signature Lunox fueled NXP’s searing start and scattered away a massive 72K magic damage throughout the 24-7 beatdown of Onic in 15 minutes.

NXP looked primed to win the series after securing comfort picks of Roger for John Paul “H2wo” Salonga, Chou for Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse, Benedetta for James “Jeymz” Gloria and Khufra for Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera.

NXP roared back from a Game 1 heartbreaker and forced a decider behind H2wo’s Lancelot (7-1-5 kill-death-assist), Exort’s Lunox (4-0-6) and Renejay'[s Chang’e (3-1-6) who led the 14-minute 16-4 romp in Game 2.

With the reverse sweep, Setsuna “Dogie” Ignacio’s NXP joined Smart Omega at No. 2 in Group B with 17 points on an even 6-6 series record.

Dogie’s crew is just a point away from clinching a Playoffs seat and they could seize it if Laus Playbook Esports lose even a single game in their remaining three matches in the Regular Season-ending Week 7.

On the other hand, Onic absorbed its second straight defeat and stayed at No. 3 in Group A with 16 points on a 6-5 slate.

Coach Kyle “Ryo” Berceño’s boys also fell in danger of missing out on a trip to the Playoffs upper bracket as they could only reach a maximum of 22 points while Aura PH already had 24 and Work had 21 with a match to spare.
