In a Facebook post on Friday (May 7), Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the seized meat did not have Meat Inspection Certificates (MICs) or any other documents to prove that the meat was legally imported and fit to be sold in markets.
Dr. Nicanor Santos Jr. led the operation on Juan Luna Street in Tondo, Manila, in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Customs on Thursday (May 6).
During his weekly capital report on Friday (May 7), Domagoso assured the public that meat products sold in Manila undergo inspections for safety consumption.
