‘Business as usual’ takes back seat for Tuguegarao’s veggie growers

At least for a day, vegetable growers in Tuguegarao City saw the importance of sharing their products without thinking about their potential income for that day.

The Sangguniang Kabataan officials of Tagga, Gosi Sur and Dadda decided to put up the Eastern Community Pantry a few days ago that aims to provide free vegetables and other basic goods which they purchased from local gardens.

But on Thursday, April 28, vegetable growers decided to make their own contribution to the community pantry which has been serving at least 250 families.

The now week-long pantry offers home grown vegetables, eggs, rice and a few more basic goods in their stalls located in front of the Dadda Catholic Chapel.

They have also organized a community pantry at the Gosi Sur Barangay Hall starting Saturday, May 1.
