Military Ordinariate of the Philippines Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio said, the praying of the holy rosary in solidarity with all Roman Catholics is a powerful way to seek the Blessed Mother’s intercession.

“We are calling on all chaplains to observe a rosary marathon. The Holy Father is asking for help, spiritual help through praying of the rosary,” Florencio said over Radio Veritas.

The Church leader, likewise, called on the families of military personnel and the police to join in the praying of the holy rosary.

“The praying of the holy rosary this May is timely as May is known as the month of Mary,” the bishop added.

Pope Francis recently led the first day of the month-long rosary marathon as he called on Marian shrines around the world to join in the recitation of the rosary.

Thirty Marian shrines from different countries have been chosen to lead in the rosary marathon including the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage or Antipolo Cathedral in Rizal.

The rosary marathon may be viewed online through the Vatican’s official channel at 6 p.m. in Rome or 12 midnight in the country.
