Comelec: No national ID registration in poll offices

In case you are wondering if you can apply for national ID at the offices of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the answer is no.

Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez provided this explanation in his Twitter account.

"People asking if they can apply for a National ID at Comelec offices. Sadly, no. Comelec field offices will not be used," he said.

"#VoterReg is ongoing, and our offices have limited space anyway, not good for physical distancing," added Jimenez.

Voter registration is currently ongoing in areas under the general community quarantine and modified general community quarantine from Mondays to Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The poll body suspended the voter registration this month in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Abra, Quirino, and Santiago City (Isabela) due to the imposition of the modified enhanced community quarantine.
