7K more added to COVID-19 cases in PH


The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, May 3 reported 7,255 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 1,062,225.

The total recoveries also increased to 975,234 with the addition of 9,214 new recovered patients.

The total number of deaths also rose to 17,525 with 94 new deaths.

The case bulletin of the DOH also showed 69,466 active cases, of which, 94.7 percent were mild, 1.8 percent were asymptomatic, 1.1 percent were critical, 1.4 percent were severe and 0.94 percent were moderate.

The DOH said 13 duplicates were removed from the total case count as nine of these were recoveries.

"Moreover, 51 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.

The Health department said all labs were operational on May 1, 2021 while 15 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
