Man injured in Tondo fire


A man suffered from a first degree burn in a fire that gutted a residential building in Tondo, Manila on Sunday (May 2).

The Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR) identified the injured individual as Jonry Lee, 31, the affected building's owner. He suffered from a first degree burn on his right shoulder.

According to a BFP report, the fire was first reported at the second floor of the building along Old Torres Street in Tondo, Manila at 3:16 p.m. It reached the second alarm at 3:24 p.m.

Firefighters declared the blaze under control at 4:19 p.m. and was put out by 4:28 p.m.

Ten families were displaced in the fire, the BFP-NCR said.

Investigation showed that six structures were affected and the estimated worth of damage is at P200,000.

No casualties were reported in the fire. Further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
