The project launch, which was held at the QCPD grandstand, was attended by Mayor Joy Belmonte along with the QCPD command group headed by Police Brig Gen. Antonio Yarra, Deputy District Director for Operations Col. Antony Maghari, and District Directorial Staff chief Col. Gerardo Umayao.

“Now is the time that Quezon City police and the community must unite and work hand-in-hand for a common goal and that is to ensure public safety for peace and order in the community; to exercise the true ‘Bayanihan’ spirit, especially in this time of crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Yarra said.

Mobile and fixed stalls for distribution of foods and other essential items will be located in areas of the most vulnerable residents of the city.

Part of the launching was the send-off ceremony for police mobile stalls from Camp Karingal to the designated barangays.

Sixteen police stations led by their respective commanders also served “lugaw” and distributed food packs and health kits during the event.

This project is inspired the city government’s “Grow QC: Kasama Ka Sa Pag-Unlad sa Pagkain, Kabuhayan at Kalusugan” that also helps residents greatly affected by the pandemic.
