Easterlies to bring scattered rain showers over northeastern Mindanao

The northeasterly surface wind flow will affect the extreme northern Luzon, while the easterlies will be affecting the rest of the country within 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Tuesday afternoon, April 27.

PAGASA said Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

The public is warned against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorm activity may also occur between late afternoon and early evening, which could trigger flash floods over low-lying communities or landslides in mountainous areas, PAGASA warned.

Based on its extended weather outlook for key areas from April 28 to May 1, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 32-34 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 34-35 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City, 24 degrees Celsius in Baguio City, 30-32 degrees Celsius in Tagaytay City, 31-32 degrees Celsius in Puerto Princesa City, 32 degrees Celsius in Metro Cebu, 32-33 degrees Celsius in Metro Davao, and 33-34 degrees Celsius in Zamboanga City.

Moreover, PAGASA has not issued a gale warning on Tuesday afternoon but sea conditions over the northern section of Luzon and eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough.

Meanwhile, sea conditions over the rest of the country will be light to moderate.

Seafarers and fisherfolk are safe to sail but were advised to observe caution when venturing out to sea.
