Grab Philippines has teamed up with teleconsultation platform, KonsultaMD to provide over P21 million worth of free online healthcare consultations for its drivers and delivery partners amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The move is in line with Grab's commitment to support its partners, who have served as frontliners and helped millions of Filipinos with their everyday needs during the health crisis.
"Keeping our partners healthy ensures they maintain their earning potential and that consumers continue to receive essential services. We listen closely to the needs of our partners, and we are reinforcing our commitment to our communities by providing free telemedicine consultation through our partnership with KonsultaMD," Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera Cruz said.
The partnership will help cover the health needs of Grab's community of drivers by enabling them to consult with licensed doctors and specialists via voice or video call anytime.
Meanwhile, Global Telehealth, Inc. Chief Operating Officer Cholo Tagaysay expressed his excitement about extending the much-needed telemedicine support to Grab partners.
"Telehealth is more relevant now more than ever. People need access to doctors, and telehealth provides that even to remote areas where no doctors are present. You can consult a KonsultaMD doctor anytime, anywhere through voice or video," Tagaysay said.
Eligible family members of Grab drivers and delivery partners can also be listed as beneficiaries. This means the relatives can take advantage of KonsultaMD's free online medical consultation which will run until January 2, 2022.
Aside from drivers and delivery partners, the service will also be provided to social sellers under Grab’s Madiskarteng Boss Club program by the second quarter of 2021.
"They can use it 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and as many times as they need. Users can also request e-prescriptions such as e-laboratory requests, proper medication, and e-certificates, as long as they are included in the list of available specialties in general medicine," Vera Cruz said.
