San-En's Thirdy forced to sit out weekend games vs Osaka due to knee injury

Thirdy Ravena was forced to sit out the weekend matches of the San-En Neophoenix against the Osaka Evessa at home due to an injured left knee.

San-En made the announcement hours before yesterday’s game in Toyohashi City, adding that Ravena got the injury during a game against Ryukyu last April 14.

The team made no additional information about Ravena’s condition.

Ravena has been dealing with injuries since he made his debut for the Japan B.League club in November.

He missed 22 games after fracturing his right finger in early-January and was also sidelined in early-December after testing positive for COVID-19.

Ravena has played just 18 games this season, averaging 9.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

The two meetings with Osaka will be the last set of home matches for the Neophoenix, who are near the bottom of the standings with a 12-52 record.

San-En plays two road games opposite Mikawa on May 1 and 2 while it is unknown if last week’s postponed matches against Shinshu will be rescheduled.
