The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases granted the request of the PNP, through its Air Unit, for its initial rating training for pilots "provided that training will be done in a non-quarantine hotel," according to Presidential spokesman Harry Roque.

The latest decision was contained in the IATF resolution No. 111 issued after a meeting Thursday, April 22.

"The training provider may transfer the training to a hotel that has been granted a Certificate of Authority to Operate for Staycation (CAOS) by the Department of Tourism (DOT)," the new IATF Resolution read.

"The intended training site may convert from a Quarantine Hotel to a Staycation Hotel by applying for a CAOS with DOT," it added.

The police force earlier reactivated its pilot training courses in a bid to enhance the air proficiencies of qualified personnel. More helicopters have been purchased for personnel transport as well as law enforcement operations. The helicopter procurement is part of the ongoing modernization program of the country's police force.
