LA’s rising girl-power-pop-group, Boys World, are celebrating the release of their debut EP, “While You Were Out.” The five-track project is a tour de force, taking fans on a liberating rollercoaster ride through a multitude of genres and emotions.
The EP features songwriting by Tayla Parx (Ariana Grande, Khalid, Megan Thee Stallion), Gino Barletta (Katy Perry, Selena Gomez), Lindgren (Dua Lipa, BTS, Sia), and Melanie Fontana (The Chainsmokers, Halsey).
“While You Were Out” is the musical embodiment of the band’s overall spirit – a mix of sounds and personalities for everyone.
For this EP, fans can expect Boys World’s distinct R&B and Y2K-inspired-pop sound that’s heard through their debut hit single, “Girlfriends,” the empowering, self-love anthem, “Wingman,” the enigmatic track “Tiptoe,” and two never-before-heard songs – the vulnerable and emotional “Relapse” and confidence-lifting, “Touched by an Angel.”
Shot by Tyrell Hampton at vintage store Squaresville in Silver Lake, CA, the EP cover perfectly encapsulates the vibrant, energetic personalities that make Boys World who they are.
“It’s finally here!” said Boys World of While You Were Out. “The title was in one of the first promo cards we used to hint at our first single. Our fans (who we call stars) thought that was going to be the title of the first song, and then we realized it’s the perfect title for our first EP. While You Were Out encapsulates girl power and self-love, and each song has a different tone and explores different genres and lyrical themes. We designed the sequence of the EP so if you listen from start to finish, you’re experiencing a story of someone who is stuck in an emotional cycle.”
“Boys World” will celebrate the EP release with a special one-night only virtual concert on April 23.
Boys World is the eclectic super group of five members – Elana Caceres, Olivia Ruby, Queenie Mae, Lillian Kay and Makhyli.
Blossoming from the digital age we are living in, Boys World is the next destined breakout band whose secret to their instant appeal lies in the band’s commitment to offering something – and someone – for everyone.
These girls are unstoppable between their ultimate girl-next-door vibes, undeniable vocals, tempo choreography, and infectious friendships.
Their inaugural and sophomore singles, “Girlfriends” and “Wingman,” have generated almost 5 million streams in just a few months.
Since their music debut in October 2020, the group has earned praise from fans and critics of Billboard, People, PAPER, etc. The girls secured their place as ones to watch in the industry prior to releasing any music, with Refinery29 naming them as one of the most 14 influential Gen-Z “people doing the most with the least.”
Boys World is currently hard at work in the studio working on future projects. As lifetime music obsessives, schooled at the altars of 90s R&B, classic rock, and modern pop, Boys World represents the future of pop music with a wink to the past.
