In its 5 p.m. severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the typhoon was located at 390 kilometers (km) East of Basco, Batanes as of 4 p.m.

It had a maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph while moving north-northeastward at 15 kph.

“Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal in all areas is hereby lifted,” the state weather bureau said.

“In the next 24 hours, the northeasterly wind flow enhanced by the typhoon will also bring strong breeze to near gale conditions with higher gusts over the coastal and mountainous areas of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Cagayan,” it added.

Based on the forecast track, Bising will likely move generally northeastward away from the landmass of Luzon from Thursday until Friday morning, April 23, before turning generally east-southeastward or eastward on Friday afternoon.

It will then turn generally northeastward on Sunday early morning, April 25.

“The typhoon is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Saturday evening or Sunday early morning,” the agency said.

It said that Bising will gradually weaken throughout the remainder of the forecast period, adding that it will likely be downgraded to severe tropical storm category by Friday and tropical storm category by Saturday before transitioning into an extratropical cyclone outside the PAR on Monday, April 26.

On Friday, Bising may be located 765 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, before reaching 1,115 km east of extreme Northern Luzon by Saturday.

By Sunday, the cyclone will be outside PAR at 1,795 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon, and it will likely be 2,735 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon by Monday.
