Three persons arrested for faking RT-PCR results in Las Pinas City


Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. General Eliseo Cruz announced the arrest of three individuals on Tuesday, April 20, in Las Pinas City.

The suspects were identified as Frederick Jude, 46, radio technician, of Barangay Talon I, Las Pinas City; Janice Dasco,35, cashier, Sabang, Naic, Cavite; and Gabriela Dimaano, 21, clerk, and a resident of San Nicolas, Bacoor Cavite.

They are detained at the Las Pinas police custodial facility and will be charged for falsification of public documents.

The police said that aside from falsification of public documents, Jude will also be charged for illegal possession of drugs.

The suspects were arrested at about 4:00 p.m. at Janric Medical Clinic, formerly VMK Medical Clinic, located along No, 350 Real St., Alabang-Zapote Road, Las Pinas city.

Cruz said the suspects were arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by members of the SPD and Las Pinas City police after receiving information that Janric Medical Clinic in Las Pinas City is producing fake Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results for P1,500.

He said that during the operation, the police were able to recover two RT-PCR test results under the name of Ireneor Custodio, Jr. and Joey Tecson and four rapid test results under the name of Esminda Biag, Carl Jerome Morelos, Razel Relon, and Gerardo Lacalinao.

Aside from the test results, the SPD chief said the police also recovered one piece of rolled aluminium foil and one improvised glass tooter with traces of shabu.

Cruz lauded the operatives from SPD and Las Pinas City police for the arrest of the three suspects.

He said the arrest was made in compliance with the instruction of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to the PNP to arrest and intensify its crackdown against persons engaged in producing fake RT-PCR test results and medical certificates.
