An offshore earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 shook Maguindanao on Tuesday morning, April 20, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake, which struck at 7:49 a.m., originated at 29 kilometers (km) southwest of Datu Blah T. Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
It hit at a depth of 605 kilometers.
Phivolcs, however, did not report any earthquake intensity.
The quake was tectonic in origin, which means the tremor was caused by the movement of an active fault in the area.
Phivolcs does not expect damage to property nor aftershocks to occur due to this earthquake.
