DSWD: ECQ ‘ayuda’ payout rate in NCR+ rises to 32.5%; LGUs serve over 7.4 million beneficiaries


The number of low-income beneficiaries receiving the government’s financial assistance in the National Capital Region (NCR)-plus has increased to  over 7.4 million or 32.5 percent of the 22.9 million people targeted to receive the aid, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Monday, April 19.

Citing the Department of interior and Local Government (DILG) monitoring report on the distribution of the government’s one-time financial aid, DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao  said as of 12 noon, April 18, a total of 7,470,149 low-income earners affected by the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the NCR, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal have received their cash aid. 

So far, the local government units (LGUs) have distributed more than P7.47-billion supplemental aid in NCR-plus.

The payout rate in NCR-plus was placed at 32.5 percent. 

Based on the DILG report, the NCR remained logging the highest distribution rate at almost 42 percent.

A total of 4,670,971 beneficiaries in the region have been served, receiving P4.67 billion worth of aid. There are 11,172,988 target recipients in NCR.

The DILG report showed that the LGUs in Bulacan have disbursed more than P658.17 million worth of cash aid, benefiting a total of 658, 177 low-income individuals. The payout rate in Bulacan was placed at 22 percent. 

There are 2,967,039 target beneficiaries in Bulacan.

The LGUs in Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, meanwhile, have served 2,141,001 beneficiaries, distributing more than P2.14 billion worth of ECQ assistance.
