P3-M shabu seized, 2 dealers nabbed in Quezon buy-bust

TAYABAS CTY, Quezon – Police seized some P3-million worth of shabu from two suspected drug dealers Friday in Barangay Calumpang, this city.
Police identified the suspects as Edwin Tan Luistro, alias “Edwin,” 50; and Nolly Añoso Batoto, 52, driver, both residents of Catanauan, Quezon.

Police anti-narcotics and intelligence agents here conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects at about 6 p.m.

Luistro was caught in the act of selling shabu while Batoto was nabbed while trying to flee aboard his Nissan Navarra with conduction sticker F4 J114.

Police seized from Batoto some 103.50 grams of shabu with a street value of P2,111.400 while Luistro yielded 48.76 grams of shabu worth around P994,704.

A criminal complaint for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article 2, of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 against the suspects is being prepared for filing at the Office of the City Prosecutor here.

The confiscated shabu was submitted to the Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, police said.
