"True Beauty" star Hwang In Yeop is teaming up with "Lovestruck in the City" superstar Ji Chang Wook for Netflix’s latest fantasy drama.
After rumors that the streaming giant is producing a live action adaptation of the webtoon Annarasumanara, it was rumored that Ji Chang Wook was in talks for the lead role.
Later, "True Beauty" breakout star Hwang In Yeop was also reported to be offered a role in a drama about a magician who wishes to stay as a child forever.
Netflix took interest in the webtoon written by Ha Il Kwon after it was adopted into a stageplay several years before.
With the new title "The Sound of Magic," the story will revolve around the character of Lee Eul (Ji Chang Wook), a stage magician who resides in an abandoned theme park.
He will come across a bullied schoolgirl named Yun Ai, whom he will take on magical journeys. Meanwhile, Hwang In Yeop will play the role of Na Il Deung, Yun Ai’s classmate who will transform his views on life through magic.
"Love in the Moonlight" and "Itaweon Class" director Kim Sung Yoon will take charge of the drama while JTBC and Zumi Content will take point on the production.
