The local government of Quezon City has vaccinated more than 100,000 residents, healthcare workers, and other members of the priority sectors against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Mayor Joy Belmonte reported Thursday.
In a virtual press conference, the lady mayor said a total of 106,395 individuals have already received their first dose of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines.
“We are proud and glad to report that we have more than 100,000 individuals who are protected from the ill effects of the virus. While this is still a minute percentage compared to our population, this is already an achievement in our year-long battle against COVID-19,” Belmonte said.
Of those vaccinated, 17,257 or 16.22% are medical and non-medical health workers from levels 1 and 2 hospitals, while 26,233 or 24.75% are from level 3 hospitals.
