It’s easy, Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said, to resolve problems such as incomplete or wrong names on the list of beneficiaries of the financial aid in the city due to the Grievance and Appeals Committee it created for this purpose.
For instance, if only two individuals were listed from a family of four included in the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) last year, they can appeal to the committee and will only need to show proof that they are dependents of the head of family and the cash will be immediately released to them.
“Iyon po yung madali kasi yun po yung mga dapat apat na individual per family makatanggap ng apat na libo dun mismong araw po na yun binibigyan po natin ng aksyon po yun kahit di po nakasama sa listahan po sa sinubmit sa amin ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) (We can easily resolve this problem where a family of four is supposed to receive P4,000, we immediately act on their situation on the same day even though their names are not in the list provided by the DSWD),” Olivarez said in an interview on DZBB on Thursday, April 15.
“Basta magpakita lang po ng ID. Xerox copy lang po ng ID na sila ay anak, dependent noong head of the family, binibigay na po natin yung maximum na P4,000 for each family so immediately po yun di natin sila pinababalik (As long as they show photocopies of their IDs proving that they are dependents of the head of families, we will give the maximum P4,000 for each family on the same day),” he added.
So far, Olivarez said, the list from the DSWD is accurate. The city government created the Grievance and Appeals Committee mainly to act and respond to any irregularities in the distribution or concerns from the beneficiaries like missing names.
As of Thursday (April 15), Olivarez said the Paranaque LGU has distributed close to 30 percent of the cash aid to beneficiaries. A total 604,000 individuals or 151,000 families are expected to benefit from the financial aid from the national government.
Parañaque City received a total of P604 million funding for this from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
