COVID-19 cases in PH rise to 904,285


The total number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country rose to 904,285 on Thursday, April 15 with the addition of more than 11,000 new cases.

The case bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) showed 11,429 new cases. 

Data from the DOH also showed 856 new recoveries and 148 new deaths.

This brought the total recoveries to 705,164 and total deaths to 15,594.

Of the 183,527 active cases, 96 percent were mild cases, 2.8 percent were asymptomatic, 0.4 percent were critical, 0.5 percent were severe and 0.30 percent were moderate.

The DOH said 24 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 10 were recoveries and one was recorded as death.

"Moreover, 68 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.

The Health department said seven labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on April 14, 2021.
