The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended the validity of licenses that expired amid the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and modified ECQ (MECQ) in the "NCR-plus".
In an advisory posted on its social media pages, the LTO said that clients whose student permit, driver's license or conductor's license have expired during the quarantine restrictions will be given until July 31 to renew.
The National Capital Region (NCR or Metro Manila) and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal--collectively known as NCR-plus--are currently under MECQ until April 30. The government previously placed these areas under ECQ between March 29 and April 11.
Meanwhile, the validity of registration of motor vehicles with plate numbers ending in 3 and 4 was also extended up to June 30 and July 31, respectively.
The LTO has set a weekly schedule for renewal in order o avoid overcrowding in its offices amid the persisting coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation. The schedule is posted on the agency's Facebook page.
No penalty or surcharge shall be collected for renewal transactions within the revised schedule, the LTO earlier emphasized.
Operations of LTO offices in NCR-plus are still suspended until April 30 due to the implementation of the MECQ.
