More than 500 public school teachers in Manila were inoculated against COVID-19 on Tuesday (April 13).
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said a total of 551 public school teachers who are senior citizens or have comorbidities were vaccinated as of 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
They were inoculated with the CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine made by Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac.
Domagoso expressed hope that by giving teachers in the city COVID-19 jabs early on, this will help speed up the resumption of face-to-face classes.
A total of 68,469 frontline workers, senior citizens, and people with comorbidities in the capital city have been inoculated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday, data from the city government showed.
