Robredo was one of the special awardees along with Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez, Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla and 1-PACMAN Rep. Mikee Romero were among the "People of the Year" awardees while Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto was the People's Choice awardee.

“From donors to our volunteers, to our hardworking staff, na talagang (really) above and beyond ang serbisyo (the service)—napapatunayan natin na walang naglalakbay o nagtatagumpay nang mag-isa (we prove to ourselves that no one can succeed on his own),” she said in her short message.

“Our journey towards being a more responsive, more advocacy-driven office, geared towards uplifting the lives of our people, could only have been made possible through a vast constellation of efforts.”

The vice president thanked PeopleAsia for the award and congratulated her fellow awardees, who, she said, proved that “the only way that the Filipino can rise through any crisis is together.”

Robredo dedicated her award to everyone who believes in the work and advocacies that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) represents.

“Malaki ang hamon ng panahon natin ngayon, pero mas malaki ang pagkakataon ng bawat isa na makatulong, makiambag, at makipagbayanihan (There are great challenges facing us now, but the opportunity is bigger for each one to help, contribute, and unite). There are already so many of us doing the work, but I hope we can keep finding more of us to forge pathways of collaboration, pulling together towards a single horizon,” she said.

The lady official then promised to “continue to work hard alongside you in pursuit of a better normal for all.”
