“Nakakatuwa yung iba na pumunta kanina kasi sinasabi nila ‘Bibilisan ko lang po kumuha para po makakuha rin yung iba.’ Kahit hirap na sa buhay, iniisip pa rin nila yung kapwa (It’s inspiring because others say ‘I’ll hurry up so others can get [groceries] too.’ Even though life is hard they still consider other people),” Sotto wrote.

“Ang mayaman pag tumulong sa kapwa, mabuti yun. Pero pag ang mahirap, tumulong sa kapwa mahirap, extraordinary yun (When a rich person helps others, it’s good. But when a poor person helps another poor person, it’s extraordinary).”

The store is an initiative of the Members of the Church of God International (MGCI), a Christian religious organization.

According to the organization, MGCI Free Store is a store that aims to lend a hand to the less fortunate.

The project was internationally launched in March and the store has multiple branches nationwide.
